The cord has been cut. I’m my own man. The Folks finally decided to move me into MY room and MY crib. No more trying to get some shut-eye while listening to Pops snoring and Mom tossing and turning. That bassinet was getting cramped what with all my eating and growing. Now, I have plenty of space to spread out, and I get some privacy. The Folks have their spy toys in there of course, so I only have so much privacy. It makes them feel better if they can hear me and see me on their little monitor. I can still get them up in the middle of the night if I need something or roll off my pillow pal.
All those toys I had lying around the house are starting to make sense to me. They give me something to do during the day as Pops ignores me to pound on his little keyboard. I can sit up in my bouncy seats and reach the toys to play. Things that roll are pretty cool. I have this one toy that’s like slot machine wheels–Vegas, or the nearest Indian reservation, here I come.
- Come on 7’s! Daddy’s got bills to pay!
Milk is still my favorite, but the Folks are letting me try new things. I’ve been eating this rice cereal stuff that looks awful but tastes pretty good. Yesterday, I ate carrots for the first time. Mommy has a new orange shirt. The biggest issue I have with the new food is that it takes too long. When I’m hungry, I don’t have time for the little spoonfuls of stuff, so I have to give the Folks an earful if they don’t at least give me some milk first. They usually wait until I’m starving before they pull themselves from whatever they think is so important to feed me. How many episodes of 30 Rock can you watch in a row while your kid is withering away?
I suppose I can’t complain too much. The eating is working. I can’t fit my legs in the Bimbo seat anymore, no matter how much Pops tries to pry them in. The digital scale is a bit finicky and unreliable, but Pops has weighed me on it 3 times in the past 2 weeks, and I’m somewhere between 14.4 and 15.0 pounds. The diapers are cinching up a little tight on me too, so I may be moving on up to the 3’s soon.
Mom figured out how to make videos on the camera, so as soon as I can figure out how to post videos here, you can see me in action.
That’s it for now.
