It finally happened. There was some sort of malfunction with the fingernail clippers and now I have my first boo boo. It took me a second to realize that it had happened and it wasn’t pleasant, but after a quick cry it was over. I certainly preferred this boo boo over the multiple shots in the leg from the Doc Lady.
Mommy, on the other hand, was much more traumatized by the event. The clippers took a bit of skin off the end of my thumb, so right now I have one thumb shorter than the other. I suppose that matches my mismatched pupils.
What’s really bothering me is this teething thing. An annoyance that will not go away, and I still have no teeth peeking through. I chew on stuff; I rub my fingers all around my gums, but nothing really helps. The folks are wondering why I’m fussy at the end of the day. I should ask them why they’re so fussy at the end of the day.
Anyway, Pops has been taking me to the gym recently. That belly of his has gotten out of control, and he can now drop me off at the gym day care while he works out. There’s a little boy that always runs up and touches my face. There is a little girl who cries anytime the babysitter leaves her side. I’m not so sure any of these weirdos are going to be my good buddies, but at least I’m out and about.
Pops is making me laugh though. It’s a huge gym with music blaring and weights clanging, not too mention that I am behind a thick wall, but I’m pretty sure I can hear him grunting. He comes in afterward, panting like the dog we don’t have, and can barely lift me into the car seat. Some people just don’t realize when they’re over the hill and should just hang it up. I can see the ambulance coming for him and they leave me in the day care all day with the whiny girl and Mr. Hey Can I Touch Your Face.
On to lighter news, I got a premature first Valentine’s day present. I don’t know how MaMa Mitchell knew I like paper so much–good gift Mama.
The folks took me to a Super Bowl party last weekend. They thought they could just put me in their friend’s bed and go have their fun without me, but that wasn’t going to happen. I had no intentions of sleeping through the big game.
I don’t care for either of the the two teams that played, especially Eli and the Giants, but it was a pretty good game. Pops won 10 bucks playing some stupid game and you’d thought he had won the lottery. Regardless, I got to stay up past my bedtime and hang out with some new people. I have one Super Bowl in the books. Now, I’m just waiting on the Redskins to get back there while I’m still alive and kicking.
Finally, the cats and I are becoming big pals, so I help Mommy feed them once in a while. It’s a good bonding experience and gives me something to do.
I think they really enjoy it when I jump in and help out.
That’s all I have for now. I know there is a Hillsville trip in my near future, so the Mitchell clan better be ready.
